REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS INSURANCE

(RFP)

Proposal # INS 08-21-17

The Laguna Madre Water District is requesting sealed proposals for workers’ compensation, comprehensive general liability, errors & omissions liability, real & personal property, boiler & machinery, mobile equipment & heavy machinery, inland marine, business auto/fleet, data processing equipments, commercial crime, loss of income, flood & pollution liability coverage. Coverage will be two one-year terms, with a one-year renewal option, provided that renewal rates are reasonable as compared to market. The one-year renewal option will require Board action.  Coverage would begin October 1, 2017.

Sealed proposals should be (marked “INS Proposal for i.e. General Liability, Property or WC etc.”  08-21-17) to be received at the office of the Human Resources, Laguna Madre Water District, 105 Port Road, Port Isabel, Texas 78578 until 10 a.m.,  August 21, 2017, and will be opened immediately thereafter. Proposals shall be firm for 60 days after the opening of proposals. Companies submitting proposals should be prepared to offer binders or extend coverage immediately upon notice to prevent any loss of coverage, which may result because of the transition.

Proposals are to include the name of the insurance carrier(s) with which the insurance will be placed. Insurance company must have a Policyholder’s Rating of A- or better. Agents and Companies must be duly licensed for business in the State of Texas by the Texas Department of Insurance. The RFP package and instructions may be obtained from the HR/Benefits Administrator during normal business hours at the address above or by accessing our website at http://www.lmwd.org.

The contents of the proposals shall be kept confidential. A recommendation will be submitted to the Board for action at its regular meeting. The Board reserves the right to hold proposals for 60 days from deadline, to reject any and all proposals, to waive informalities in proposals and to accept the proposal deemed to be in the best interest of the Laguna Madre Water District.

We are no longer in the WATER CONSERVATION “STAGE 2 OF OUR CONTINGENCY PLAN”  Since the water levels have risen about 50 percent. Laguna Madre Water District  would like to thank its customers and announce that there are no restrictions at this time.
